COPPA Compliance

This page describes how BuyerBot complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and protects children's privacy.

BuyerBot is not directed at children

BuyerBot is a workplace purchasing tool designed for use by adults in professional Slack workspaces. The Service is not directed at, marketed to, or intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area).

No knowing collection of children's data

We do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13. BuyerBot is accessed through Slack, which itself requires users to be at least 16 years old (or the applicable age of digital consent in their jurisdiction).

What we collect

BuyerBot collects only the data necessary to operate the purchasing workflow:

• Slack user IDs and display names (provided by the Slack API)
• Purchase request details (search queries, selected products, approval status)
• Workspace configuration (approvers, thresholds)

We do not collect email addresses, phone numbers, physical addresses, photos, or other personal identifiers directly from users. All user identity information comes from the Slack API based on the user's existing Slack profile.

If we discover children's data

If we learn or have reason to believe that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will:

• Delete the data promptly
• Notify the workspace administrator if appropriate
• Take steps to prevent further collection

Parental rights

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to BuyerBot, please contact us at [email protected]. We will investigate and delete any data collected from a child.
